Fund Raising

Harrington Spring Fair Julie Fuhrer The Spring Fair is a beloved tradition at Harrington, as well as the PTA's biggest fund-raiser. The Fair is an exciting event for the entire family
Retail Partnerships Hongmei Zhang Works with businesses that provide money back to non-profit programs, i.e. Stop and Shop, Target, Amazon, Wilson Farm, Barnes and Noble etc.
Spirit Wear Katherine Mahony This PTA Fundraiser encourages students to show school spirit by purchasing T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and/or hats with the Harrington School name and mascot.
Picture Day Seiza Viana Picture days take place in the Fall and include student and class photos as well as a fundraising family portrait event

This PTA Fundraiser encourages students collect General Mills Box Tops and bring them into the lobby every Tuesday morning to help supplement the PTA General Fund. Small prizes are awarded to all students.
Fall Fundraiser Jing Yu Many different products for sale beyond gift wrap including gifts and gourmet food. 50% of total sales fund Harrington PTA initiatives.

Green Team Amy Armitage The Green Team is a group of parent volunteers that oversees the composting and recycling of all eligible lunchtime items! We are interested and passionate about preserving our environment, increasing environmental education and awareness at school and at home, and making your child's world a greener place to live. Like the other LPS Green Teams, we are working with our school’s staff and administration to assess all current green efforts at Harrington, and with the DPW and Town to increase awareness and decrease our school's carbon footprint. Room Parents Coordinator Karin Arnold Head Room Parents, with assistance from the Room Parents, work to facilitate communication between teachers and parents. They coordinate volunteers for the Big Backyard, organize class baskets, plan class parties, welcome new families; and assist teachers with other class events/activities.
Map Night Jill Weng Lexington Public Schools and the Harrington PTA are hosting an exciting night of educational fun with the National Geographic Society's Giant Map. Additional activities will include crafts, book reading, games, and presentations. This is a free event, open to the entire family.
Lost and Found Julie Haiar The Lost & Found is located next to the Gym near the Kindergarten wing. Labeled items are returned to students; unclaimed items are returned at the end of the year.
5th Grade Graduation OPEN 5th grade parents collaborate with 5th grade teachers to plan the camping trip, graduation ceremony, DVD, yearbook, pool party & class gift. They also work with students to fundraise for end of year events.

Harrington Reads Book Club Claire Sheth This parent/child book club is open to all 4th and 5th graders. Meetings are facilitated by the committee chairs and are held twice a year for each grade.
Beautification Maria Vlachos Maintains two-way, regular communication between the PTA and the Harrington staff. The Liaisons meet regularly with the PTA Executive Committee

Math Nights are parent-child fun filled evening of math games held once a year for each grade. Math mornings provide math enrichment program run by parents to build problem -solving skills. For 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, held once a week before school.

This is a town-wide parent run science enrichment program. The program is developed to enrich each grade's science curriculum. 3 Parent volunteers from each classroom participate in 1 hour training per season. Will then lead students on seasonal explorations behind the school during class time several times throughout the school year.
Understanding Our Differences (UOD) Colette Powell

Understanding Our Differences (UOD) is a parent run disability awareness curriculum designed for the 3rd through 5th grades. Four parent volunteers from each classroom participate in a 30 minute training to lead students in activities designed to help them understand a variety of disabilities.

Talent Show Cheri Sukia This annual evening event gives all Harrington students the opportunity to show off their special talents in a fun and supportive environment
Bingo Night Xia Zheng Traditional Bingo is a fun filled night for the whole family with teacher Bingo callers & fun prizes. You can come early for a pizza dinner to help support the 5th Grade.
Science Fair Alok Saldanha The Science Fair is an annual opportunity for Harrington students to create and display science projects and experiments

METCO Family Friends Stephanie Hsu (Gretchen Rabinkin) METCO Family Friends partners host families with our Boston families. Host families bring home Boston students one Thursday afternoon per month during the school year.
Sports Outings Christine Belin The family sports outings are offered several times a year and include trips to see the Lowell Spinners and the Devils hockey team
