Announcements & News

LBYH

Registration is now open for this season of Lexington/Bedford Youth Hockey's popular In-House program.

The program is for hockey players aged 5-10 years old. 1/2 ice games are Saturday mornings at Hayden rink in Lexington, in the same time block each week. It is a great and fun way for new players to learn hockey, and advance their skills as they move towards travel hockey. The season starts in late October and runs through early March, ending with a championship tournament and end-of-season program banquet for all the players. Good sportsmanship, fair play, and having fun are primary objectives of the program.
Registration is also open for the "Intro to In-house/Learn to Play" clinics. These are skills-based clinics run by LBYH coaches to help new players learn the basics of the game and develop their skills. It is recommended any In-House players without prior skating experience also attend the clinics. There are two sessions available.
Both programs are very popular and registrations will fill up quickly. Registration for in-house will be closing sometime in late September, once the max number of kids are signed up. For more details and information about the programs and to register, please go to the LBYH website and select the Register Online option.

Household Composting Fundraiser
Looking for a way to recycle more of your waste AND help out your student's school? Mention “Harrington PTA” in the referral section when you sign up for curbside pick-up from Black Earth Compost – and the Harrington PTA will receive a $10 donation!

You can choose a monthly program for $9.99 or an annual program for $99, that’s only $8 per month! To show support for composting, the Town of Lexington is providing a free 13 gallon wheeled locking-lid bin to those who sign up for any compost pickup service(while supplies last). Black Earth’s commercial composting facility takes many things that aren’t appropriate for a backyard compost bin (meat, bones, dairy, cooked foods, pizza boxes, and certain types of compostable "plastics”).

Trash in Lexington is incinerated, causing air pollution and toxic byproducts. Composting recycles nutrients back to the soil for use by local farmers and gardeners, and ultimately into the produce you eat. And customers get a bag of free compost in the spring! Help the environment and Harrington today!
